Adverbial Clause

  •  Adverbial clause is clause (anak kalimat) functioning as adverb, namely explain verbs. 
  •  Adverbial clause usually classification as “ intent “ from conjunction ( conjunction preceding ). 
  •  Types of adverbial clause among other: 
1. Clause of time : Clause which shows the time, usually created by conjunction as: after, before, no sooner, while, as, etc.

a. While she was walking school, she saw an accident. 
b. No sooner had she entered than she gave an order. 
c. Close the door after your finished bathroom.



2. Clause of place : Clause which shows the place, usually created by conjunction as: where, nowhere, anywhere, wherever, etc.

 Example:

a. Market where you live is always there. 
b. Learning can be done wherever you are. 
c. The police anywhere are always uphold justice.
3. Clause of contrast : clause which shows the contradiction between the two incident or events that are interconnected, usually created by conjunction as: altought, tought, event tought, where as, even if, in spite of, as the time, etc. 

Example: 

a. Forgive my teacher even tough he comes late to class.
 b. He scolded my friend where as   he did not participate.
 c. He made the same mistakes as the time two weeks ago.
 4. Clause of manner : Clause which shows to how do I perform a task or event occurs, usually created by conjunction as: how, as, like, in that, etc.

Example :

a. My father worked as a supervisor of worker. 
b. I went to bandung like to buy pineapple. 
c. If my silence how the task will be completed. 
5. Clause of purpose and result  : Clause which shows relations intent or purpose and result , usually created by conjunction as: ( in order ) that, so that, in hope that, to the end that, lest, in case, etc.

Example : 

a. Thanks to my teacher for so that I can be performing student. 
b. Preparing the return of equipment lest left behind in school. 
c. I will learn in hope that to get result.
6. Clause of cause and effect  : Clause which shows cause and effect, there several patterns to form the types of clause:

Example:

a. Lazy student learn cause stupidity. 
b. Run a mile tiring for me.
